Men's tennis wins sixth straight state title

For the sixth consecutive year, the Palomino men's tennis team of Laredo Community College has captured the junior college state title.

The impressive feat was achieved after LCC defeated Tyler Junior College during the Southwest JUCO tournament held in Temple April 10-11.

"All of the guys played great," head coach Jaime Donjuan said.  "The doubles teams were very impressive by winning all of their doubles matches.  This is the first time the Palomino men's team achieves this feat."

Additionally, Palomino freshman Cledson Carvalho showed off his singles skills by winning flight 1.

On the women's side, the Lady Palominos' top duo of Loriane Favoretto and Flavia Picanco took first place in doubles.

Favoretto reached the finals in flight 1 before losing to Nadia Lee from Lee College.
