LCCTV is an educational television channel providing audiovisual support for Laredo Community College’s instructional effort in the community and to showcase Student and Faculty talent as well as provide programming of educational and development value for the local workforce and the community we serve.

We transmit through Channel 17 of the Time-Warner Cable Service 24 hours a day supporting our course syllabi and also showing programs that can be of educational benefit to our community.

Channel 17 provides recording services for all departments of the college for airing purposes, archival purposes, class videos, instructional support, video streaming, video-on-demand, skill development, process analysis, workforce and professional development.

LCCTV’s modern facilities are located at the Fort McIntosh (downtown) campus of Laredo Community College in the De La Garza Building rooms 102 and 103. Thanks to Federal and Local grants, the acquisition of the latest video technology became a reality situating this entity in its time at the avant-garde of broadcast automation and the channel’s operation has received recognition for its cost-effectiveness and added value.

HISTORY
LCCTV started originally as LCCTV Channel 55 on June 6, 2000, only providing support for the GED classes. Later, the support for continuing education classes and the support for our curricula came. Nowadays, most disciplines are covered at one time or another in the weekly programming. These disciplines include math, social studies, science, art and literature.

There is also support for the GED and Continuing Education, and the future aims this office to start providing support for Industry Relations as our presence increases in this area.
