LCC volleyball readies for final three at home

There’s no place like home.

And the Laredo Community College volleyball team couldn’t be any happier to be finishing its final three conference matches of the season this week on Palomino turf.

“It’s always good to be home and get the support of our Palomino fans,” head coach Binny Canales said.

The action begins Wednesday, Oct. 24 as LCC faces the Coastal Bend College Cougars of Beeville at 7 p.m. in the Maravillo Gymnasium.  Rooting from the sidelines at this match will be the LCC Laredo Grenadiers drumline, which also will offer a halftime performance.

Locked in second in Region XIV-District I with a 7-2 conference record and 11-7 overall, the LCC Palominos host the Lee College Rebels of Baytown on Friday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Maravillo Gym.

Collegiate volleyball reaches its climax on Saturday, Oct. 27 when LCC tangles with the San Jacinto College Ravens, at 2 p.m. in Maravillo Gym.  San Jac is the conference leaders and currently ranks 12th in the nation.

High school and college students, as well as the public, are invited to show their support for the LCC Palominos.  Admission to the games is free of charge.
