WELCOME TO THE
SOCIAL & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
The Social & Behavioral Sciences Department offers courses in the areas of Anthropology, Geography, Government, History, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology. College credit in these courses can be used toward an associate degree or may be transferred to four-year and upper-level institutions to apply to the requirements for a bachelor's degree.
Students can take courses in a traditional classroom setting on and off campus or through distance learning using the Internet, telecourse, or interactive delivery methods. Instructors use a variety of teaching methods including lecture, use of audio-visuals, Internet related activities, PowerPoint presentations, guest speakers and role playing in their classrooms.
Social & Behavioral Science courses lead to many career options. Individuals considering careers in our area are encouraged to consult with SBS Department instructors to insure a well-planned curriculum and compatibility with degree plans of specific four-year schools.
